How to get up early everyday

How to get up early everyday; There is something revitalising about getting up early everyday. You tend to be more focused when you work during the stillness of early mornings.  It’s an amazing opportunity to just knuckle down and get things done. That time of the day is still and quiet and – hopefully – your brain is rested. You might choose to get up at 5 a.m. This leaves  you time to shower, meditate, and work out by 6 a.m. The exercise will energise you, and in my case, I then focus from 6-10 a.m.

I complete early morning tasks very well, and I rarely have to revisit them. The tasks are done quite well, and the routine sets me up for the rest of the day and gives me the motivation to press on.

Key Questions

Have you at any point of your entrepreneurial journey, had the opportunity to wake up super early and just decide that I might as well get some work done?

Well Done!!! You are in a good place and I am actually quite excited for you as it is a good place to be.

However, were you consistent with this ? What can you possibly derive from this behaviour?

Waking Up Early At The Same Time – 7 Tips To Ensure Consistency

1. Do it with determination

I know for a fact that once you have done this, you will want to do it again and again. To ensure consistency, determine in your mind to not just wake up early but actually get up. Over a set period of time you need to establish a new habit. Consistency does develop new habits, and as an entrepreneur you can’t go wrong with this one. The early morning is quiet and still, the very nature of this time allows for increased focus and productivity.

In fact my perspective is that these early hours are there to harness that extra focus and productivity. They are there for the taking. You just need to be determined.

 2. Write your To Do List The Night Before

I am now in the habit of doing this at about 10.30 pm every evening without fail. I write it down or extract it from an existing list. As you write your intentions down it is getting embedded in your subconscious as well and you have action-ed your intentions for the following day. These actions will play on your mind as tasks that you have to execute the next day. You have just generated a situation that requires some urgency.

3. Establish Your Intentions

Determine ahead of time how exactly you intend to use this valuable time. So it is going the extra mile with what you have extracted from your to do list. As an example, you might have 4 activities or tasks on your to do list. Out of the 4 which one will you tackle in the early morning hours?

My intention is to  focus on activities  or tasks that involve writing or tasks that draw upon my creative abilities. So it could be writing a report for a client, writing a blog post as I am doing now, writing an outline for my new book …. things like that.

4. Get To Bed Early

In order to train yourself to wake up early, going to bed early is a must. Not only are you creating a good sleep schedule for yourself. You allow yourself  to wake up refreshed with a positive mindset and a willingness to make distinct progress. Stick to going to bed early everyday  and your body will begin to wake up naturally at the time you desire. It about consistent behaviour and this behaviour eventually evolve’s into good  positive habits.

5. When in bed

Don’t just go to bed early, be restful and use your bedroom space as your resting space.  To improve your bedtime routine, try doing something relaxing before bed, such as reading or taking a warm bath. Avoid activities like working on your laptop or tablet in bed as you will end up not actually putting your mind to rest. You will deprive yourself  of the sleep you require to wake up early and be productive.

6. Think of Your End Game

Think about the end game ahead of time, once more you are addressing your mind to act positively. Just think about what your intentions are for waking up early. There are benefits of completing an important task before 8.00 am in the morning.  The thought that, “When I wake up early today, I will complete the first chapter of my book by 8.00 am in the morning. This will set you up for success as you will be motivated  and empowered to get more done in this time.

7. Incorporate Some Form Of Exercise To Your Early Morning Routine

Start by incorporating some form of exercise as you rise early. Try to do this before you actually commence the piece of work you have decided to do. It sets you up not just for the early hours but for the entire day. So 5 mins of exercise in the morning will go a long way. You will experience  fitness, boost your metabolism, ease away aches and pains. Mental alertness increases as you pursue your early morning tasks with zeal and gusto.
